Worm Bedding, Coco Coir, Composting Worms

OHeckYa.com is proud to bring you Coco Coir which has many different uses. It is a 100% organic by product remaining after the extraction of the long fibers from the Coconut husks.  After screening, grading, washing to remove salt residue, it is compressed into bricks.

With Coco Coir being 100% organic it makes great Worm Bedding for our Composting Worms.  This is the reason we include a brick of Coco Coir with every Worm Factory.

Mixing Coco Coir with garden soil our plants require less fertilizer, develop stronger more elaborate root systems, are resilient to disease and weeds.  Coir is also the perfect product to improve the flow of moisture in our gardens.  When mixed with clay and sandy soil the soil will be a more effective growing medium because of Coco Coir’s ability to retain moisture.  Just add water to Coir, it will hold 7 times its weight in water.

By adding one part Coir to two parts top soil we can make a perfect growing medium for our gardens, UrBin Grower and other potted plants.  We use Coir to replace peat moss, rockwool and perlite.  Coir is a renewable source free of bacteria and fungal spores.  Coco Coir is a natural by product of Coconuts readily available.  It will last three times as long as peat. Peat may take 5 to 10 years to reproduce.  Peat lowers the pH of the surrounding soil where Coco Coir is pH neutral, its pH ranging from 5.8 to 6.8 makes it perfect for gardens and of course Worm Bedding for our Composting Worms.
